The "Communication with Vulnerable Groups: Soft Skills Development Training" training for employees of the NGO "City of Goodness"
In today’s world, the ability to communicate effectively with vulnerable groups is becoming increasingly important, especially for employees of non-governmental organizations. Therefore, the training on “Communication with Vulnerable Groups: Developing Soft Skills,” conducted for the NGO “City of Goodness,” was an important step in enhancing their professional competence and strengthening interaction with these groups.
The training agenda included the following topics:
- Psychological characteristics of NGO clients
- Legal aspects of providing assistance to vulnerable categories
- Markers for identifying psychological state. Client portrait
- Assistance strategies, and more
Training Objective
The main goal of the training was to teach participants how to effectively communicate with vulnerable groups, including people facing difficult life circumstances, victims of violence, and internally displaced persons. Additionally, during the training, participants had the opportunity to identify weaknesses in their work processes and develop soft skills such as empathy, compassion, tolerance, and adaptability.

- Taisiia Rubaniuk, Human Rights Activist, NGO “City of Goodness”
According to the plan, the training was organized for 27 participants from the NGO “City of Goodness.” The training was conducted in a friendly and open atmosphere, which contributed to effective learning activities.
Overall Project Status and Completed Tasks
During the training, participants actively interacted, bonded, and got to know each other. The exercises allowed a better understanding of common values and interests, which plays an important role in building trust and initiating open communication. A plan for further actions was developed.
