Our Heroes at Invictus Games 2023!
The Ukrainian team at Invictus Games 2023 consists of 25 veterans and military personnel – true heroes whose spirit is stronger than their bodies. They will compete in 10 adaptive sports, including table tennis, athletics, powerlifting, rowing, archery, and many more. Their efforts and dedication inspire us all.
The charitable organization “Friends of Ukraine Foundation” takes pride in and feels a tremendous responsibility for its participation in the most prestigious competition for military veterans and servicemen – Invictus Games. For the fourth time, Ukraine has joined this important initiative, symbolizing the strength of the human spirit and extraordinary resilience.
At the opening ceremony of Invictus Games 2023, world leaders expressed their support for Ukraine. German Chancellor Olaf Scholz and German Minister of Defense Boris Pistorius pledged unwavering support for Ukraine’s fight for freedom and security. This underscores the significance of our mission and our contribution to the world of sports and the international community.
Prince Harry, the Duke of Sussex and Patron of Invictus Games, particularly emphasized the importance of Ukraine’s participation and praised the courage and resilience of our athletes. His words provide us with strength and energy in our pursuit of Victory.
